이재길의 "안개빛 환상" 글 로도 그림으로도 쉽게그려낼수 없는 것을 이재길은 사진으로 해냈다. 모든 사람들이 보기를 원했고, 그러나 실제로는 볼 수 없었던 여인들의 모습 - 우리는 그들을 선녀라는 이름으로 불렀다. 그의 선녀들은 사랑스러움 뿐 아니라 다소 탐미적이고, 퇴폐적인 분위기와 억눌린 인습의 틈사이에서 샘솟는 신선한 에로티시즘과, 격렬함과 때로는 사악함 마저도 동시에 지니고있다. 그가 카메라에 담고자 하는것은 아름다운 여자가 아니고 여자의 아름다움이다. 이를위해서는 과도한 노출이나 증감, 몇차례의 반전현상과 같은 극단적인 기법의 도입도 서슴치않으며, 이렇게해서 그는 지금까지 우리가 보아온 여성을 소재로한 어떤 사진에서 와도 다른 매력적인 여성들을 그려내고 있는 것이다. 우리는 그의 세계를 경험한다. 그리고 그가 그려낸 여자들이 어떤모습을 하고 있는지를 기억해 낼수는 없으나, 그들의 존재감이 우리의 의식의 깊은곳에 쉽게 치유되지 않은 감미로운 상처를 남기는 것을 확실하게 느낄 수 있을 것이다. 사진평론가 김승곤 Mr. Daniel Lee accomplished it by photography which could not be easily expressed by writing nor drawing. The women, everybody has been wishing to see but failed we call them as Sun-Nyo(Nymth). His Sun-Nyo is not only beautiful but also has more or less aesthetic and decadent atmosphere, fresh eroticism leaking from suppressed conventionality, vehemency, and sometimes even viciousness. What he wants to express is not the beautiful women but the beauty of women. To achieve that, he dared to adopt extreme technique of over exposure, push processing, and multi conversion. As s result of those, he could present attractive women quite different with any others we have seen. We are experiencing his fantastic world. We may not recall the feature of the women he presented, but the feeling of them shall remain in our under conciousness as a sweet gash which could not be healed up soon. / Kim, Seung-kon
